Hooked On Hard Work And Success

Raised in California’s central valley, hardwork and farming were in Stuart Bewley’s blood long before he ventured away from home to pursue an education in international business.

While in their twenties, Stu and his high school friend Michael Crete had a really great idea: mix wine with fruit juices. Ta da – California Cooler (the first wine cooler). They did a lot of hard work in product and market testing and even sold the first cases out of the back of a pickup truck. Within four years they had built a multi-million dollar business.

Having sold California Cooler, and barely in his thirties, Stu was ready for a new challenge – something that would get his hands dirty and keep him outdoors. He’d liked the people in the wine industry, so why not stick with that business, but with a twist (or without a twist might be a better way to put it). No fruit juice this time, but the fruit of hard labor.

The seven-year-search began and ended with Alder Springs Ranch. The challenge continues every day, every season, every crop. He loves what he does. Weather and all.
